Painted Bunting

After clearing the backyard concrete slab of the table and chairs,

Bucks took up a respite. Spying him through the kitchen window, I thought he deserved a snap.

Cleared Back Yard -- Cool slab for Bucks to rest

But as I shot, suddenly I noticed the PAINTED BUNTING Bird arrived on the feeder –

Painted Bunting on left side of Feeder

and with a window between us, I could shoot as fast as my camera allowed.

There is a pair of these PAINTED BUNTINGS in our area.

The most colorful male has been with us for a month, slipping into the feeder when the other birds had finished,

But never when I had a camera near.

Gorgeous Creatures. Lucky Shots.

Glad I followed the whisper to shoot Bucks on his cement block repose.

    • You are so welcome. My neighbor told us the painted buntings are now very shy as they were caught for many years and shipped off to live in cages … so sad for a bird. xo
